Still here...

But still finding little time to blog read or post. In the past 2-3 weeks I've had 2 trips to D.C. for work (I ran on the mall - my old stomping grounds! - during the second trip), a family camping trip, and many other work- and family-related things going on. We're off on another short camping trip this week, then my husband and I start teaching for the semester the following week (he's a full-time prof., I teach one course per semester as an adjunct prof. in addition to my other part-time telecommuting job), then the kiddos are back to their normal preschool/school schedule the week after Labor Day. I am not getting in all the runs that I'd like to for my half-marathon training, but still trying to keep up a semblance of a running schedule. The next couple of weeks will tell whether it's realistic for me to do the HM or not. I hope so!

Don't give up hope with the HM, if you are getting in a couple runs a week you probably can still finish if you are really determined. The trick is to squeeze in some form of cross training e.g. walk fast through the mall's, go hiking, push your car around the parking lot (I actually know someone who does this when he is on business trips).

Yes, ditto on the crosstraining. Need to keep up that fitness level in between runs if you can.

And the nerve of work to get in the way of running! :D

You are certainly heading into a busy time with the beginning of college/pre-school, so training may become even more of a challenge. But frankly, having a sense of your endurance, I would bet that if you managed to get one or two longer runs of 10-11 miles in, you would totally feel good about doing the 1/2. We know you totally rock the hills so no worries there :)
